One of the founding goals of the BC health research strategy was to provide a framework within which other organizations could determine their own priorities and investment decisions. With that in mind, it was exciting to see tangible results of this goal coming to life with the publication Oct 21 of Fraser Health Research Strategic Plan.
Fraser Heath, one of Canada’s fastest growing health authorities and home to 1.7 million British Columbians, has developed this plan to increase its capacity to conduct research in order to ensure that patients, clients and residents receive excellent evidence based care.
With a mission to promote excellence in every care experience by integrating research into practice, the plan maps five main domains and associated research priorities that will help achieve that mission — clinical intervention; knowledge transfer and implementation research; health care technology and innovation; health systems and services; and public and population health.
In developing its plan, Fraser Health ensured it aligned with the Ministry of Health service plan and the BC health research strategy Directions for Health Research in BC
